Saitama (city)

Most of Saitama is covered by the Kanto Plain, but the Chichibu area in the western part of the prefecture is surrounded by mountainous terrain surrounded by nature. In Chichibu, Nagatoro Gorge with its rocky terrain is a well-known outdoor spot, and the Chichibu Shibazakura and Chichibu Night Festival are also famous. The Chichibu-Okumusashi area is popular among hikers of all ages for its low mountains, which offer views from their peaks, tranquil scenery, and seasonal flowers.

Kawagoe, located in the southwestern part of the prefecture, once flourished as a castle town, and even today is lined with tasteful old storehouses and merchant houses. The sweets shop Yokocho, which has been in existence since the Meiji era, is lined with old-fashioned candy stores and is a fun spot for the whole family.
