It's a long hike, up to the open air museum. But the views are well worth the effort. Refugio Solarie, was an excellent break for lunch. But I had the Idea, that only one person, had to do most of the work at this place. The hostel in Tribil was a great experience, with a wonderful host!!!

From the start all the way to Castle monte, the hiking was excellent. With nice trails and beautiful viewpoints. From there you are descending on a paved road, all the way to the valley floor. A bit boring with limited views. I did enjoy the last 4 km, where you hike in a beautiful landscape with vineyards.

FYI, the Refugio Solari is closed as of June 2024 and without any indication when it'll open again. Make sure to take sufficient water and food.
