    Tolle Wanderroute, die Trittsicherheit und festes Schuhwerk voraussetzt. Eine lange Hose ist aufgrund schmaler und manchmal dicht bewachsener Pfade sehr zu empfehlen. Wer mit dem Auto ankommt, und keinen Geländewagen hat, sollte den offiziellen Parkplatz in Palia Perithea aufgrund des schlechten Zustands meiden. Ich kann die Parkmöglichkeiten vor der ersten Kirche in Palia Perithea empfehlen. Dort ist es wesentlich flacher und es gibt keine großen Steine auf dem Boden.

    Haben die Tour andersrum gemacht. Pfad vom Küstenweg links ab war leider zugewachsen, auch der, welcher bei Makrades links ab geht. Sind auf Hauptweg bzw. Straße gelaufen. Zwischen Makrades und Prinilas leider durchgehend Straße, deshalb nur 4 Sterne. Schöne Landschaft und tolle Ausblicke entschädigen und Verkehr war überschaubar.

    Schöne Wanderung durch die Hügel rund um Arillas, durch Olivenwälder und eine im Mai wunderschöne Natur. Tolle Aussichten auf die Bucht. Sehr gute Wege, auch für wenig Geübte geeignet. Bei warmem Wetter unbedingt ausreichend Wasservorrat mitnehmen, da unterwegs lange keine Einkehrmöglichkeiten.

    Schöne Tour auf den höchsten Gipfel der Insel mit 360° Rundumblick. Lässt sich zudem mit dem Besuch des Geisterdorfes perfekt verbinden. Der Weg selbst beginnt nach Verlassen des Ortes mit einem schönen Pfad, bevor es über Schotterwege und zum Schluss über die Straße auf den Gipfel geht. Der Pfad war bei mir aber nicht mehr (?) "zugewuchert". Die Zeitangabe mit knapp einer Stunde auf 4,4 km und 450 hm ist allerdings für die große Masse der Wanderer völlig unrealistisch. Der Weg ist lt. einem Schild recht zu Beginn mit 1 Stunde und 45 Minuten angeben - ich selbst habe für den Hinweg ca. 1 Stunde und 35 Minuten und für den Rückweg 1 Stunde und 20 Minuten gebraucht. Sicher, wäre man "nur durchgelaufen", dann könnte man auch eine Stunde schaffen - einplanen sollte man aber für die Tour insgesamt 3-4 Stunden! Wer noch Kraft, Lust und Zeit hat, kann die Tour auch um einen Besuch des "richtigen" Geisterdorfes Old Sinies erweitern. Die Wegstrecke dürfte recht überschaubar sein, allerdings sind es dann schätzungsweise zwischen 350 und 500 Höhenmeter mehr.

    Eine traumhaft schöne Doppelbucht umgeben von grüner Felsenlandschaft, einem schicken Bergdörfchen und nicht unweit von einem sehenswerten Strand (Agios Georgios beach). Da ich zuvor bereits unten am Strand war, habe ich die Tour abgewandelt und bin vom Ausgangspunkt runter zu den Buchten, dort dann weiter zur kleinen (aber unspektakulären) Kapelle und zur kleineren Bucht im Westen weiter, bevor es wieder zurück ging. Die abgewandelte Form hatte so etwa 3 Stunden in Anspruch genommen und mit 8,5 km sowie 318 Höhenmeter eine weniger anspruchsvolle Wegstrecke.

    Der Pfad abseits der Straßen ist schon teilweise überwuchert, Wegmarkierungen nicht mehr deutlich. Davon abgesehen ist es aber immer noch eine schöne Tour, die man sicher in eine Rundtour verlängern könnte.

    Really enjoyed the views and variety of this trail. Some trails are hidden and sometimes tricky to find, and a few ascensions a little tough, but the challenge made the overall walk and rewards all the more enjoyable.
