Windorf is located on the edge of the Bavarian Forest and is known for its picturesque landscapes with rolling hills, green forests and clear rivers. The region offers numerous opportunities for hiking or cycling tours through nature. In winter, you can also go skiing or snowshoeing here.

One of the tourist attractions is the Schlossparkmuseum - a museum in a historic building complex from the 18th century with a collection on the history of the region. Another highlight is the Gothic parish church of St. Stephanus, which boasts impressive architecture.

Culturally interested travellers should not miss the annual cultural festival - a festival full of music and theatre performances during the summer months.

For gourmets, Windorf also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try local specialities such as "Schwarzbier" (a dark beer) or "Hutzelbrot" (a type of fruit bread).

If it rains, you can easily go to the indoor swimming pool or visit one of the many museums - for example the Frauenau Glass Museum just a few kilometres away from Windorf.

The most beautiful places in Windorf are undoubtedly the picturesque hiking trails through the Bavarian Forest, which are particularly impressive in autumn. The view of Windorf Castle is also a highlight.

Overall, Windorf is definitely worth a trip - whether for nature lovers or those interested in culture. We hope this guide will help you plan your perfect itinerary and discover all the highlights of Windorf!

This gravel tour was a great adventure for us. We started the tour in Passau following the Donau to Regensburg. This gave us two days to to get us a little into it. It broke the part of the Donau into two, we ended the tour in 8 days in Passau. Instead of following the GPX we sometimes followed the indications of the official cycling tours to stay away from busy traffic.
