Discover the region

Geographically, Wincheringen is located near the border with Luxembourg and France at the confluence of the Saar River and the Moselle. The picturesque vineyards and green hills offer a breathtaking backdrop for hiking or cycling tours along the Moselle valley or through the adjacent Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park.

Touristically relevant are above all the numerous wineries, which produce excellent wines - a visit is definitely worthwhile! In addition, Thorn Castle with its Renaissance style is worth a visit as well as the historic old town of Trier, located only 20 minutes away.

Cultural highlights are the annual wine festival in August and the international jazz festival in September. Wincheringen also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: Be sure to try the juicy Riesling wine together with delicious cheese from the region.

The best outdoor activities can vary depending on the season: In summer, a boat trip on the Moselle is a good idea, or you can explore the surrounding countryside on a bike ride. In winter, on the other hand, the nearby Erbeskopf ski area is a great place for skiing and snowboarding.

If it should rain, we recommend a visit to the Karl Marx House Museum or the Rhineland Regional Museum in Trier. Here you can experience the history of the region and Germany up close.

But the most beautiful thing about Wincheringen is its idyllic location on the riverbank, surrounded by green hills and vineyards. Don't miss the opportunity to discover this destination - it's definitely worth a trip!

Hopefully, this travel guide has helped you plan your itinerary for Wincheringen. We wish you an unforgettable stay!

Verpflegung muss man mitbringen!

Through wald and fields. No opportunity to eat and drink along the way. Konz is not very interesting but the Italian ice shop across the station is a must visit.
