The two cities are located near the Lower Rhine and are surrounded by numerous lakes and rivers. Here you can go for a wonderful walk or bicycle ride. The Niers cycle path, which leads through idyllic landscapes, is particularly recommended.

In Willich there are several tourist attractions such as Neersen Castle or the historic town centre with its half-timbered houses. The open-air museum "Museumsdorf" also offers an interesting insight into the history of the region.

Viersen, on the other hand, is particularly popular with families thanks to the Schwalm-Nette Nature Park and the Brüggen Zoo. Those interested in culture should definitely visit the museum "Haus Koekkoek" - here works by the famous painter Barend Cornelis Koekkoek are exhibited.

For culinary delights, traditional dishes such as Rhenish sauerbraten or Himmel un Äd (mashed potatoes with apple and onion rings) are available. Many restaurants also serve regional beer - an absolute must for every beer lover!

For those who want to do something even in bad weather, Willich has various indoor activities such as the indoor swimming pool or the climbing hall. In Viersen, a visit to the cinema is a good option.

But the most beautiful time in Willich and Viersen is outside in nature - especially in spring, when everything is in bloom, or in autumn, when the leaves turn colourful. A walk along the Lower Rhine or through the Schwalm-Nette Nature Park should definitely be on your to-do list.

All in all, Willich and Viersen are definitely worth a trip! The Travel Guide offers numerous tips for a successful stay.

Alles Gute...
