Walsleben

Geographically, Walsleben lies on the edge of the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land nature park and thus offers a beautiful environment with lakes, rivers and forests. The region is known for its unspoilt nature and the many opportunities for hiking, cycling or fishing.

Most relevant for tourism are Walsleben Castle and the 13th-century St. Mary's Church. The castle was built in the 18th century and today houses a hotel as well as a restaurant serving regional cuisine.

Cultural highlights are also offered by the annual events such as the summer festival on the castle grounds or the Christmas market in the historic old town of Neuruppin.

For culinary delights, we recommend a visit to one of the numerous farm shops in the area, where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables directly from the farmer. Typical dishes such as potato soup or game dishes should also be tried.

The best outdoor activities can vary depending on the season: In spring, hikes through blooming landscapes are tempting, while in summer, bathing lakes such as Lake Tornow invite you to swim. In autumn you can go mushroom picking and in winter you can go ice skating on frozen lakes.
