The special location between the rivers Lahn and Sieg offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling. These activities are especially nice in the months of May to October, when the weather is pleasantly mild.

One highlight of the region are the historical sites such as Hachenburg Castle from the 13th century or Montabaur Castle with its impressive architecture. The 12th century Marienstatt Monastery is also worth a visit - here you can not only admire the magnificent church, but also take part in a guided tour of the brewery.

For those interested in culture, there is also much to discover in Wallmerod: The museum "Leben im Dorf" (Life in the Village) vividly shows life in the countryside in earlier times and the open-air museum "Hessenpark" lets its visitors immerse themselves in bygone eras.

Wallmerod also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: Be sure to try the traditional apple wine as well as regional specialities such as wild boar goulash or pancakes with turnip cabbage.
