One of the most important sights in Waldems is Reichenberg Castle. It was built in 1357 and once served as the residence of the noble family of Breidenbach zu Bürresheim. Today it houses a museum with an impressive collection of artworks from various eras.
Another highlight is the numerous hiking opportunities through the Hochtaunus Nature Park or along the Limes Trail - a UNESCO World Heritage Site from Roman times.
Culturally, Waldems also has much to offer: The annual castle festival at Reichenberg Castle attracts visitors from near and far. Here you can enjoy music acts of all genres as well as culinary specialities of the region.
For gourmets, we recommend a detour to the Possmann wine press in Frankfurt-Höchst, where cider has been produced in the traditional way since 1881. A wine tasting in one of the many wineries around Waldems is also worthwhile.
When it rains, Waldems also offers indoor activities such as the Grube Fortuna visitor mine or the Wiesbaden Museum with its extensive collection of artworks and ancient artefacts.
The best season for outdoor activities is spring to autumn. In winter, you can go skiing or cross-country skiing in the nearby ski areas on the Feldberg.
The district of Steinfischbach is particularly beautiful, where you can admire cosy half-timbered houses. Here you will also find the oldest church in the village, dating back to the 12th century - another highlight of Waldems.
In summary, Waldems is definitely worth a visit! Whether hiking through picturesque landscapes, cultural highlights or culinary delights - everyone gets their money's worth here.
