Discover the region

Geographically, Vrees is located between the cities of Papenburg and Cloppenburg and is surrounded by a picturesque landscape. The region is known for its numerous lakes and rivers as well as the green meadows and fields.

There are many tourist attractions: for example, visit Clemenswerth Castle or take a walk through the castle's baroque garden. Another highlight is the Thüle Zoo with over 600 animals from all over the world. Those interested in culture should not miss a guided tour through the historic old town of Vechta.

Many cultural highlights also take place every year, such as the music festival "Rock am Wind" or the traditional harvest festival in autumn.

Culinary Vrees also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the regional speciality "Emsländer Grünkohl", a hearty coal stew with potatoes, sausage and pancetta - perfect for cold winter evenings!

For outdoor activities, the summer is the best time: Take a bike ride along the river Hase or go swimming in one of the many lakes around Vrees. In winter, skiers can put their skills to the test on the nearby Bocksberg.

But what to do when it rains? Don't worry! Visit the museum in Clemenswerth Castle or take a guided tour of Vechta. Alternatively, spend a leisurely day in one of the local cafés and enjoy the regional cuisine.

Where is it nicest in Vrees, Emsland? That depends on your personal preferences, of course! But we definitely recommend watching the sunset over the river Hase - an unforgettable experience!

Vrees, Emsland is definitely worth a visit and this travel guide will help you make the most of your stay. We hope you enjoy discovering it!

Aufgrund Zeitmangels u.
