Veelböken

Geographically, Veelböken is located near Lake Ratzeburg and belongs to the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. The surrounding area is characterised by rolling hills, forests and lakes and is perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or boating.

The focus here is primarily on nature: the nearby Schaalsee biosphere reserve invites you to go on extensive hikes and offers impressive views of the surrounding landscape. The adjacent Ratzeburger See also entices with numerous water sports opportunities such as sailing or canoeing.

If you prefer to experience cultural highlights, you can visit Güster Castle - a magnificent baroque castle from the 18th century. Concerts are held here regularly, as well as art exhibitions by various artists.

Veelböken also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: The restaurant "Landhaus am Schaalsee" serves regional specialities such as fresh fish from the surrounding lakes or game dishes from the region.

For rainy days, we recommend a visit to the Museum of Town History in Lauenburg/Elbe - here you can learn all about the history of the region as well as important personalities who have lived here.

It is especially beautiful in Veelböken in spring and summer, when everything blossoms and greens. Autumn offers a magical play of colours with the colourful leaves. In winter, you can even go sledding or cross-country skiing when there is snow.
