Teising

Teising is located in the picturesque Chiemgau region and is surrounded by the Alps. The town has a long history and is known for its charming half-timbered houses as well as the impressive church of St. Stephanus from the 15th century. Another highlight is Teising Castle with its beautiful park.

Altötting, on the other hand, is considered one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage destinations in Europe, as the Black Madonna is venerated here. The place of pilgrimage attracts thousands of believers every year, but non-believers are also drawn to the special atmosphere.

In both cities there are many tourist attractions to discover, such as museums, historic buildings or parks. Cultural highlights are, for example, the annual Teisinger Volksfest (folk festival) or the numerous concerts in Altöttings Kapellplatz.

Culinarily, both towns have a lot to offer: Be sure to try the famous Bavarian beer as well as regional specialities such as Weißwurst (white sausage) or Brezn (pretzels).

For those who like to be active, Teising and the surrounding area are great for hiking or cycling tours - these activities are especially nice in spring and summer when the weather is mild. In winter, the nearby Sudelfeld ski region beckons with its slopes.
