Cultural highlights are also plentiful in Sternberg: visit the local history museum, for example, or take a guided tour of the town to learn more about its history. When it comes to events, you should definitely visit the annual Christmas market on the market square.
In terms of cuisine, Sternberg also has a lot to offer: Try regional specialities such as fish dishes from nearby Lake Plauer See or enjoy homemade cakes in one of the town's many cosy cafés.
There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities here: Hiking, cycling or canoeing are just a few examples. In summer you can cool off in the nearby Sternberg Lake or take a boat trip on Lake Müritz.
Even in rainy weather there is plenty to do in Sternberg: Visit the castle museum and discover the history of the town, attend a concert at the cultural centre Kloster Dobbertin or simply go out to eat in one of the cosy restaurants.
The most beautiful thing about Sternberg, however, is the nature - a walk through the beautiful town park with its old trees and romantic lakes is particularly recommended here.
