The tourist attractions of Stendal are numerous. For example, visit the impressive 16th century town hall or explore the historic old town with its half-timbered houses. The Marienkirche church with its Gothic architectural style and the Uenglingen Gate are also absolutely worth seeing.

Cultural highlights can also be discovered in Stendal: The Theatre of the Altmark regularly delights with a variety of performances and concerts of different genres, while the Winckelmann Museum provides an insight into the life and work of the famous archaeologist Johann Joachim Winckelmann.

For culinary delights, we definitely recommend the traditional "Stendaler Teller", consisting of roast pork, potatoes, sauerkraut and bean vegetables - a real treat for the palate!

In summer, outdoor activities such as cycling or hiking through the surrounding meadows and woodlands are an option. In winter, on the other hand, you can enjoy ice skating or tobogganing at the leisure centre "Am Galgenberg".

If it ever rains, it is worth visiting the museum shop of the Winckelmann Museum or the art house "M3". Here you can be inspired by art and culture.

The most beautiful time in Stendal is certainly in spring, when nature awakens and everything blossoms. But also in summer, numerous events such as the Old Town Festival or the Hanseatic Festival attract visitors from all over the world.

All in all, Stendal is a destination with a lot of charm and history that should definitely have a place on your list. Use our Travel Guide as an orientation aid for your stay!
