Geographical location and special features: Stechow-Ferchesar is located about 50 kilometres west of Berlin and is part of the Westhavelland Nature Park. Here you will find a unique river landscape with numerous lakes, forests and meadows. The region is known for its diversity of birds, especially night-flying owl species as well as cranes on their way south.

Tourist attractions: An absolute highlight is the historic Stechow-Ferchesar lock dating from 1776 - it is considered one of the oldest still functioning locks in Germany. The baroque manor house Ferchesar or the church St. Marien are also worth a visit.

Cultural highlights and events: Cultural life is enriched by various events: In summer, for example, there are open-air concerts in the park of Ferchesar Manor House or the Havel Culture Festival in Rathenow.

Culinary specialities: Be sure to try the regional specialities such as fresh bread from the farm or game dishes from local hunting. A picnic right on the waterfront is also a special experience.

Outdoor activities: The best time for outdoor activities is from spring to autumn. Here you can, for example, go cycling, hiking or canoeing on the Havel and the surrounding lakes. In winter, ice skating on frozen waters is a good option.

Rain days in Stechow-Ferchesar: Even if the weather is bad, there are plenty of options: Visit Ribbeck Castle with its museum or relax in the Fontane Therme thermal baths in Neuruppin.

Where is the most beautiful? Walks along the river Havel and through the surrounding nature are particularly recommended. A boat trip on the picturesque Havel landscape should not be missed either.

Stechow-Ferchesar is definitely worth a trip! This charming village in Havelland offers you a unique insight into the region as well as numerous leisure opportunities - whether outside in nature or inside at the cultural programme. We hope that this Travel Guide will help to make your stay an unforgettable experience!

Eine tolle Runde um den See. Sehr gut ausgeschildert.
