The area is known for its breathtaking scenery, which is impressive in every season. In summer, visitors can explore the lake or take a hike through the mountains. In winter, skiing is an option on the nearby Zugspitze.

Tourist highlights include the Benediktbeuern Monastery with its Baroque architecture and the Walchensee power station, which is considered one of the most beautiful hydroelectric power stations in Europe. Cultural highlights include events such as the annual local and traditional costume festival or concerts in the church of St. Josef.

Culinary delights abound - be sure to try Bavarian specialities such as Weißwurst, pretzels and beer! Regional products such as cheese from the Isarwinkel region should not be missed either.

If it rains, there is still plenty to do: for example, visit the Franz Marc Museum in Kochel am See or take a leisurely drive along the German Alpine Road.

The most beautiful view can be enjoyed from the Herzogstand - here visitors have a spectacular view over the region all the way to the Zugspitze massif.

Overall, Schlehdorf is a destination worth discovering. A travel guide for everyone who wants to spend an unforgettable time in Bavaria!

Thanks for the route. It was a beautiful day. A challenging climb, which my 12 year old managed nevertheless, and my older kids took in their stride. Worth noting they only accept cash at the top of the cable car.

Beautiful ridge walk; did the reverse order (Heimgarten then Herzogstand) to enjoy a drink at the Berggasthaus before heading down. Less ice / snow than is usual for this time of year; only needed spikes at the peaks and ridge
