Geographically, Runkel lies on the river Lahn and is surrounded by picturesque hills. The region is known for its impressive nature and offers numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or canoeing along the Lahn. The months of May to September are particularly recommended.

    Ein sehr malerischer Weg, den ich am 7. November 2025 gegangen bin. Ich möchte ihn im Sommer noch einmal gehen, ich denke, dann wird der Weg trocken sein. Danke für die Karte, mir hat alles sehr gut gefallen. Ich empfehle, diesen Weg und andere Wege entlang des Flusses Lan zu gehen.

    Wunderschön und sehr empfehlenswert! Diese Stecke ist eine der schönsten Fahrrad-Wanderstrecken im deutschsprachigen Raum. Abwechslungsreich, immer entlang der Lahn, meistens sogar direkt neben dem Wasser. Kleine historische Dörfer und Städtchen mit Cafés und Eiscafés, viel Leben auf dem Wasser, aber dennoch nicht überlaufen und überfüllt. Dazu ein fast immer sehr gut ausgebauter Weg, meist Beton oder Kies/Waldboden, immer gut zu fahren, selbst wenn man wie ich in diesem Fall kein gutes Tourenrad zur Verfügung hat. Reliefenergie hält sich in Grenzen, es gibt nur sehr wenige leichte Anstiege. Dazu landschaftlich sehr reizvoll und abwechslungsreich. Ein großer Tipp!

    Eine sehr schöne Etappe mit viel Nähe zur Lahn. Ab Höhe Kerkerbach liegen einige Bäume quer, über die man aber ohne Probleme steigen kann. Nur bei einem muss unten durch. Vorteile für Leute die nicht so groß sind :)

    Eine Tagesetappe als kleine Auszeit gönne ich mir an einem strahlenden Oktobertag. Angereist mit der DB pilgere ich von Obernhof nach Bad Ems. Ca. 18 km bei ungefähr 600 hm plus 2 x 2 km von zuhause zu meinem Heimatbahnhof und zurück. Direkt ab Bf Obernhof geht es bergauf zum Kloster Arnstein, wo Spiritualität, Geschichte und ein schöner Ausblick warten. Ca. 7 km geht es auf Asphalt (Lahntalradwanderweg) durch den Wald bis zur Stiftung Scheuern. Ab da in kleinen Serpentinen auf Pfad und Waldweg geht es den Berg hinauf. An einer Spitzkehre biege ich falsch ab, und so wandere ich ein Stück auf dem Lahnwanderweg. Vielleicht sogar der schönere Abschnitt, denn so komme ich an die Kuxlay mit fantastischem Ausblick. Etwas später stoße ich wieder auf den Lahn-Camino, und es geht nach Dausenau. Der letzte Anstieg über den Concordia-Turm und der wunderschöne Abstieg nach Bad Ems fordern nochmals meine ganz schön müden Beine. Schnell zum Bahnhof, denn mein Zug kommt in ein paar Minuten. Fazit: Eine wunder- wunderschöne Pilgeretappe!!! Eine Bitte an alle PilgerInnen: Nehmt Euren Müll, egal, ob Verpflegungsreste, Zigarettenkippen, Hundehäufchen, Masken, Tücher für das "Geschäftle" oder Sonstiges wieder mit nach Hause. Es ist sehr erschreckend und traurig wie vermüllt die Natur auf und an den Wanderwegen geworden ist. - Der Natur zuliebe! -

    Eine absolut wunderbare Wegstrecke. Natur pur, viel Wald, man darf des öfteren einen Panoramablick genießen und viele andere Eindrücke. Auf dieser Etappe hat die Natur mein Herz mit Freude erfüllt. Gut begehbare Wege und geniale Trampelpfade laden nochmal extra ein, diese Etappe zu laufen. Eine gute Grundkondition sollte vorhanden sein.

    Sehr schöner Abschnitt mit viel Nähe zur Lahn. Das Lahn-Marmor-Museum mir dem Unica-Bruch (auch bei geschlossenen Museum zu bestaunen) ist sehr zu empfehlen. Der Abschnitt zwischen Villmar und Runkel ist ein traumhafter Pfad mit vielen Blicken auf die Lahn. Zum Schluss läd Limburg mit dem Dom und der Altstadt zum schönen. Abschluss ein. Tolle Tour !

    Schöne Tour - man wandert erst entlang der Lahn bevor es abseits der Lahn durch schöne Wiese, Felder und Walwege wieder zurück zur Lahn geht. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Lahn Marmor Museum und ein Abstecher in den Unica Steinbruch (300 m hinter dem Museum) lohnt sich auf jeden Fall - echt beeindruckend was man alles in dem polierten Stein erkennt.

    Wir sind die Tour im August 2020 in entgegengesetzte Richtung mit einem Tandem (Hase Pino) gefahren. Die Strecke am Main, Rhein und der Lahn sind sehr schön, auch wenn der Radweg an der Lahn oft nicht direkt am Fluss entlangführt. Zwischen Wetzlar und Frankfurt hat uns die Streckenführung nicht gefallen, da sie teilweise viel befahrenen Landstraßen nutzt. Zwischen Harheim und Okarben kann man beispielsweise auf dem Niddaradweg fahren. Die starke Steigung zwischen Geilnau und Laurenburg kann man illegal, aber gut machbar umfahren. Dazu einfach die Hinweisschilder ignorieren und direkt neben der Lahn fahren. Ein Hangrutsch war nicht ersichtlich und die Strecke war durchgängig mit dem Tandem befahrbar (teilweise Singletrail). Am Rhein lohnen sich Abstecher in die mittelalterlichen Dörfer. Die meisten Wege sind asphaltiert oder zumindest gut geschottert,

    Eine schöne und abwechslungsreiche Tour auf wild-romantischen Pfaden! Mal mit großartiger Aussicht über die Lahn, mal schattig im Wald, mal an Getreidefeldern lang... da ist für jeden was dabei! Sind die Tour heute mit Freunden gelaufen (Alter 8 bis 61), die sehr unterschiedlich zu Fuß sind, alle waren begeistert. Highlights: Ausblick auf die Burg Runkel, Marmorbrücke in Villmar, Statue des Königs Konrad, krönender Abschluss ein Eis in der Runkeler Eisdiele an der Lahn. Sehr empfehlenswert!
