Röhrmoos

Geographical location and special features: Röhrmoos is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian hill country and is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Munich. The landscape is characterised by rolling hills, meadows and forests as well as numerous small lakes and rivers. Here you can enjoy nature and relax.

Tourist attractions: In Röhrmoos there are several historical buildings to visit, such as Dachau Castle or the pilgrimage church of Maria Thalheim. The Celtic redoubt "Hochberg" is also an interesting destination with an impressive view of the surrounding area.

Cultural highlights and events: A highlight of the year are the traditional folk festivals such as the Maypole Festival or the Kirchweih Festival with music, dancing and culinary specialities from the region.

Culinary specialities: Bavarian cuisine plays a major role here - be sure to try Brezn (pretzel), liver dumpling soup or pork knuckle with sauerkraut in the local restaurants.

Outdoor activities: In summer, hikes through the idyllic landscapes or bike tours along the Amper bike path are ideal. In winter, cross-country trails invite you to go cross-country skiing and skiing is possible at the nearby ski lift in Petershausen.

Where is it most beautiful? A walk along the banks of the Amper River or a hike to the "Hochberg" lookout point is particularly recommended. The Blütenweg (blossom path), a circular walk through the orchards and fields around Röhrmoos, also offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.

What to do if it rains? If the weather doesn't cooperate, there is still plenty to experience. For example, visit the Dachau local history museum or relax in the indoor swimming pool in Markt Indersdorf.
