The region is known for its excellent wines and culinary delicacies such as the famous Spessart spit roast or the typical Franconian Schäufele. Visit one of the many traditional inns and let yourself be spoilt by the hearty cuisine!

For cultural highlights, we recommend a visit to the historic town centre of Lohr am Main, where you can see the impressive castle complex as well as numerous museums. The baroque castle in Karlstadt is also worth a trip.

Outdoor activities are also an absolute must: Hiking or cycling through the idyllic landscape offer pure relaxation. In summer, the nearby open-air swimming pool beckons you to cool off and sunbathe. In winter, snow-covered forests provide a romantic atmosphere for cross-country skiing or sledding.

Special events during the year include the wine festival in Marktheidenfeld in September and the Advent market in Lohr am Main in December.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to do: for example, discover the "Alte Turnhalle" cultural centre in Lohr am Main or visit the thermal spa in neighbouring Bad Brückenau.

In Roden, Main-Spessart is beautiful everywhere, but hikes along the Main and through the Spessart Forest are particularly recommended. Another highlight is the view of the picturesque town of Lohr am Main from the Schlossberg.
