Maps and trails
Geographically, Rainau is located in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and is surrounded by picturesque hills as well as green forests. The region is known for its idyllic landscape and the many recreational opportunities it offers.

One of the tourist attractions is Oberrainau Castle from the 16th century, which is now used as a cultural centre. The historic town centre with its half-timbered houses also invites you to stroll around. A special highlight are the numerous hiking and cycling trails through the nature around Rainau.

Cultural highlights can be found mainly in the form of concerts or theatre performances in Oberrainau Castle. There are regular events here for young and old.

Those looking for culinary specialities should definitely make a detour to the local brewery or enjoy a traditional Swabian meal - for example Maultaschen or Spätzle.

Outdoor activities can be carried out here all year round: In spring, a bike ride along the Kocher River is worthwhile; in summer, you can go on wonderful hikes; autumn is perfect for mushroom picking and, finally, you can go skiing in winter on the nearby mountains.

Even when it rains, there is plenty to do in Rainau: Visit the local history museum or the local library and discover more about the history of the region.

The most beautiful spot in Rainau is hard to determine, because every corner has its own charm. A special highlight, however, is the Kochersee lake with its picturesque shores and clear water - a wonderful place to swim and relax in summer.

Overall, Rainau is definitely worth a trip for anyone who loves nature, culture and good food. This travel guide is designed to help you get the most out of your stay.

Kaum Schatten, also keine Tour für heiße Tage.
