Rackwitz

Rackwitz is located about 15 kilometres northeast of Leipzig and is known for its picturesque landscapes. The area is criss-crossed by numerous lakes, rivers and canals. The Dübener Heide nature reserve is a popular destination for nature lovers.

An absolute highlight in Rackwitz are the Schönfeld and Hartenfels castles. Both date from the 16th century and impress with their magnificent façades as well as ornate interiors. The Podelwitz moated castle is also worth a visit - today it houses a hotel-restaurant.
