Plaidt lies on the edge of the Volcanic Eifel region and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The town offers a perfect combination of rural idyll and urban life. It is a perfect destination for those seeking tranquillity or simply wanting to escape from everyday life.

The main tourist attractions are Bürresheim Castle, which has served as a film set for some well-known movies; Lake Laach with its beautiful hiking and cycling trails around the lake; and Maria Laach Monastery with its impressive architecture.

In addition to these sights, Plaidt also has many cultural highlights to offer. The cultural centre "Forum" regularly hosts concerts, theatre performances and exhibitions. Another highlight is the annual town festival "Plaidt Summer", during which the whole town turns into a colourful festival mile.

For gourmets, Plaidt offers numerous culinary specialities such as delicious stews or hearty meat dishes. You can try these regional delicacies in many restaurants.

If it gets uncomfortable outside, you can also enjoy many indoor activities in Plaidt. For example, visit the "Monte Mare" leisure pool or the "K1" climbing hall. A visit to the local history museum is also a good option in bad weather.

In summer you can look forward to outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and swimming. In winter, the nearby ski lift at Erbeskopf offers ideal conditions for all ski and snowboard fans.

Overall, Plaidt is definitely worth a visit! There is so much to discover - from the breathtaking landscapes to the cultural highlights and culinary delights. We hope this guide will help you plan your trip to Plaidt in the best possible way!

Wochenend-Etappen in drei Jahren.

We've walked the Rheinburgenweg from Bingen to Bonn late September/early October 2020 and took us 9 days. The route goes up and down the hills, through forests, vinyeards and beautiful scenic towns along the Rhine. And there are castles everywhere! When we didn't feel like climbing all day, we sometimes just walked along the shore, which is also really nice. Towns like Bacharach, Sank Goar, Boppard, Andernach and Bad Breisig are really cute, and a bigger city like Koblenz is nice for a change as well to stay for the night. I didn't really expect a lot from Bonn, but it is a great place to finish and we've ended up staying there for 3 nights because we liked it so much. I'd highly recommend this route, perhaps in late Spring or (early) Summer because of the weather. In Fall it can be a little cold and rainy, which makes it a bit more of a challenge.

KLASSE!!!
