The geographical location of Ollmuth can best be described as hilly - surrounded by gentle slopes and green forests, this place offers a breathtaking view over the Moselle valley. Wunderschöne Tour! Sehr gute Beschaffenheit des Asphalts. Daher auch gut für Inlineskater geeignet. Jedoch nur bedingt zurück, da die ganze Strecke von Hermeskeil ab nur aus Gefälle besteht. Es gibt aber in den warmen Monaten eine Buslinie (222), ausgestattet mit Hänger, die Radsportler, Inlineskater oder Jogger wieder zurück zum Startpunkt bringt (vorherige Anmeldung bei Fahrradmitnahme). Ich bin ab Mertesdorf mit dem Bus zurückgefahren. Die Linie fährt an Wochenenden und an Feiertagen von Trier nach Hermeskeil und zurück. Eine schöne Alternativ-Runde. Wer nicht nur auf dem Ruwer-Hochwald-Radweg unterwegs sein möchte, kann diese schöne Rundtour nehmen. Die Verbindung von Ruwer in die Stadt Trier ist nach wie vor jedoch nicht ideal zu fahren. Hier wäre ein "richtiger" Radweg sehr vorteilhaft für die Region und die Anbindung in den Hochwald.

Sehr schöner Radweg durch den Hochwald und entlang der Ruwer. Überwiegend schattig, mehrere Einkehrmöglichkeiten direkt am Weg oder in der Nähe. Durch den Radbus (Fahrpläne vorher checken!) ist die problemlose Rückkehr zum Ausgangspunkt gegeben. Besonderen Dank dem sehr netten und hilfsbereiten Busfahrer und den Menschen, die die Strecke angelegt und toll gepflegt haben!

Mit dem E- Bike von Ruwer nach Kell am See: Sehr schöner Radweg der bestens gepflegt ist. Der Weg ist ausnahmslos auf der Bahntrasse also keine Straßen Nutzung. Der Weg führt nur durch die Natur also keine Belästigung durch Auto oder Motorradverkehr. Kell am See ist ein hübscher Ort und lohnendes Ziel mit Gastronomie dort kann man gemütlich verweilen. Zurück ins Tal nur noch Rollen lassen. Am Start gibt es ausreichend Parkplätze und nach kurzer Fahrt kommt man an einem Supermarkt vorbei wo man z.B. Verpflegung kaufen kann. Die Ortsgemeinden haben hier alles gut in Schuss.

Ab Trier-Ruwer geht es den Ruwertal Radweg hoch, leicht und angenehm auf ehemaliger Bahntrasse, fast immer durch Wald. Ab dort, wo man auf den Hunsrück Radweg trifft, ist es abwechslungsreicher. Ein paar kurze Passagen haben dort eine sehr schlechte Wegdecke (Kies oder ausgefahrener Feldweg). Die Abfahrt nach Saarburg ist extrem steil, macht wenig Spaß, ab Saarburg ist es easy, immer wunderschön an Saar und Mosel entlang. Oder man nimmt den Zug zurück nach Trier oder wohin auch immer... Aber auf jeden Fall in dieser Richtung fahren, denn umgekehrt von Saarburg hoch zum Hochwald ist die extreme und sehr lange Steigung sogar für Mountainbiker oder E-Bikes eine Herausforderung. Ich weiß nicht, wer sich diese Wegführung ausgedacht hat, bestimmt niemand, der selber Rad fährt.

Was für eine phantastische Tour!!! Radeln von Hermeskeil nach Trier immer leicht bergab auf einem hervorragend ausgebauten Radweg. Und die Anfahrt nach Hermeskeil funktioniert dank Radbus ebenfalls perfekt. Besser geht es nicht mehr.

War heute zum dritten Mal auf dem Weg. Immer wieder schön! Wunderbare Eindrücke, herrliche Ruhe, ausreichend Rast- als auch Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Auch für Ausflüge mit Kindern geeignet. Da ausreichend Auto-Abstellplätze an der Strecke vorhanden sind, kann man gut auch kleinere Etappen fahren.
