Discover the region

Ockenheim is located at the foot of the Rheingau between the cities of Bingen and Ingelheim. The region is known for its vineyards and mild climate. Here you can enjoy a picturesque landscape with rolling hills, green forests and the majestic river Rhine.

The town has many historical sights to offer such as the parish church of St. Martinus from the 12th century or Ockenheim Castle from the 16th century. For art lovers, we recommend a visit to the Artlantis gallery or the Gerd Rießbeck sculpture garden.

Culturally, Ockenheim offers numerous events such as the Christmas market in December or the wine festival in September - a feast for all wine lovers!

For gourmets, the region is a true paradise: Try local specialities such as Spundekäs (a regional cheese cream), Handkäs mit Musik (a sour fresh cheese) or, of course, the famous Rheingau Riesling wine directly from the producer.

When it comes to outdoor activities, summer is particularly suitable for a hike through the vineyards or a walk along the banks of the Rhine. In winter, we recommend a visit to the thermal baths in Bad Kreuznach, only 20 minutes away from Ockenheim.

Overall, Ockenheim is a destination that has something to offer for everyone and is definitely worth a trip. Whether you want to experience cultural highlights, indulge in culinary delights or simply enjoy nature - you will find it here!
