Norderney is the second largest island in the group with a length of 14 kilometres. It lies directly on the North Sea and offers breathtaking views of the sea as well as unspoilt beaches. The town itself has a charming character with many restaurants, cafés and shops. Visit the lighthouse or take a mudflat hike - there is so much to discover!

Aurich, on the other hand, is known for its historic old town with half-timbered houses from the 17th century. Here you will also find the Schlossplatz Museum, which tells the story of East Frisia. For nature lovers, there is the Great Sea National Park as well as many cycling and hiking trails through the picturesque landscape.

In summer, both towns are ideal for sunbathing on the beach or outdoor activities such as surfing or sailing. In winter, you can take leisurely walks along the beach or relax in one of the many wellness centres.

If it rains, we recommend a visit to the Badehaus Nordersauna on Norderney or the Stadtmuseums Auricher Historisches Museum in Aurich - here you can learn more about local history while staying dry!

Culinary wise, both places have a lot to offer: Try the famous East Frisian teas and the local beer. In Norderney you will also find many fish restaurants, while Aurich is known for its traditional cakes and pastries.

Overall, Norderney and Aurich are definitely worth a visit! Visit these places in summer or winter to experience the unique beauty of this region. Use this travel guide as inspiration for your next trip and discover everything these places have to offer!

Unbedingt genug Wasser mitnehmen.
