Nachtsheim

Geographically, Nachtsheim is located about 20 kilometres southwest of Koblenz and only a few kilometres away from the Nürburgring - a world-famous motor sports complex. The town itself is characterised by its quiet streets and well-preserved half-timbered houses dating from the 18th century.

Touristically relevant are above all the numerous sights in the vicinity of Nachtsheim. A trip to Laacher See, an idyllic crater lake surrounded by forests and mountains, is particularly recommended. The Maria Laach monastery on the shores of the lake is also worth a visit - here you can not only admire the impressive architecture, but also enjoy regional specialities.

Cultural highlights are also plentiful: Bürresheim Castle, for example, was built in the 12th century and served as the backdrop for the film "The Neverending Story". Concerts are held here regularly in summer.

For those who like to be active, the Eifel is the place to be: hiking or cycling through the green hills offers pure relaxation. For adventurers, there are also climbing opportunities as well as canoeing on the river Kyll.

Nachtheim also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine. The region is known for its hearty dishes such as the Eifeler Döppekooche - a potato dish refined with bacon and onions.
