Motten

Geographically, Motten is located at the foot of the Bavarian Rhön Nature Park and surrounded by picturesque forests and hills. The landscape invites you to take long walks or hikes. It is particularly beautiful here in spring, when everything turns green, or in autumn, when the leaves turn colourful.

The region also has a lot to offer culturally: Saaleck Castle with its museum offers an insight into the history of the town as well as an impressive view of the valley of the Franconian Saale. The Kreuzberg monastery - famous for its beer and bratwursts - is also nearby.

There are also some culinary highlights: Be sure to try the Franconian Sauerbraten or enjoy a glass of wine from one of the many local wine taverns.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are many opportunities for hiking, cycling or skiing (in winter). The Hochrhön long-distance hiking trail runs through the area and offers spectacular views of the surroundings. In summer, we also recommend a canoe trip on the Sinn River - a real highlight!

If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can take a detour to the indoor swimming pool or visit one of the museums, such as the "Alte Schule" local history museum in Rupboden.
