Minheim lies on the banks of the Moselle and is surrounded by vineyards. The picturesque landscape with rolling hills makes this a popular destination for nature lovers. The region is also known for its excellent wines, especially Rieslings.

Tourist attractions include Lieser Castle from the 19th century and the ruins of Machern Monastery from the 14th century. Cultural highlights are the annual wine festival in September as well as various concerts in summer.

Culinary specialities are of course the local wines as well as regional specialities such as spaetzle or Saumagen (pork stomach stuffed with potatoes). You can try these dishes in many restaurants.

    Insgesamt eine tolle Tour.... aber! Sofort zu Beginn wird mit dem Aufstieg zur Pestkapelle schon einiges abverlangt.... hat ein bisschen Steigcharakter und nix für Flipflops. Danach eröffnet sich eine Wanderung mit vielen traumhaften Aussichten. Achtung.... bei ca. 5 (Übergang vom Moselhöhenweg auf den Moselsteig) km ist der hier dargestellte Weg nicht mehr vorhanden. Ich bin zwar ein Stückchen Hang links hochgekraxelt, aber ein Weg war hier nur noch zu erahnen. Man kann aber den Moselhöhenweg trotzdem weitergehen und hat die Chance an einem Kuhstall links in den Wald abzubiegen. Dieser Weg trifft, wenn man ein Matschfeld heil überwunden hat, wieder auf den hier dargestellten Rundweg. Allerdings nach einer doch spürbaren Steigung bis auf ca. 380m gibt es viele Baumstämme zu überwinden, so daß man an dem Vorhandensein eines Weges zweifeln kann. Nach dem Abstieg (teilweise über steile Treppen im Weinberg) lohnt ein Stück Kuchen im Café vor der Brücke, um dann auf der anderen Seite noch ca. 3 km bis zum Parkplatz zu gehen. Die Tour ist Erlebnis der besonderen Art, aber wir haben es eigentlich genossen☺️. Ohne Navigation mit dem Smartphone jedoch nicht machbar.

    Da wir eine große Pilgergruppe (ca. 20 Personen allen Alters) sind, und mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln für jeweils ein Wochenende anreisen, planen wir unsere Strecken etwas anders als die empfohlenen Etappen des Mosel-Caminos. Leider hat die DB uns mal wieder im Stich gelassen, so dass wir unser Vorhaben ändern mussten. Anstatt von Bernkastel-Kues starten wir unseren Pilgerweg von Osann-Monzel um in Klausen zu übernachten. Also nur ca. 11 km - nun denn! Bestes Pilgerwetter, tolle Aussichten, schöne Rastplätze, Gebete und Lieder (mit Guitarlele) im Gepäck. In Klausen angekommen, feiern wir nachmittags in der Wallfahrtskirche einen Pilgergottesdienst mit, in der Eberhardsklause (toll!!!) wird Quartier bezogen, in "Marmanns Gastronomie" essen wir lecker, und sitzen dort gemütlich draußen bis ca. 22.00 Uhr. Am anderen Morgen - oh, Schreck - Dauerregen bei 12°. Gehört zum Pilgern auch dazu! Der Plan: Die ca. 27 km bis Schweich pilgern, und dann mit der DB wieder Richtung Koblenz. Aber das Wetter ist so schlecht, dass wir als Gruppe beschließen ab Klüsserath mit dem Bus nach Schweich zu "pilgern". Also wieder nur ca. 10 km. Macht nichts, denn im wunderschönen Weinatrium Wallerath in Schweich kehren wir ein, und genießen bei leckerem Essen und Wein den Abschluss von zwei intensiven, guttuenden Tagen. Da die DB wieder Verspätung hat (na, wenigstens kommt die Bahn), erreichen wir unseren Heimatbahnhof bei Koblenz erst um ca. 21.00 Uhr. Pilgerherz - was willst Du mehr? Sehr, sehr schön war es!!!

    Schöne Strecke mit tollen Aussichten. Leider ziemlich viel (circa 30 %) Hart Boden oder Teerbelag. Strecke größtenteils im Freien, nur relativ wenig Wald, was es bei 30°+ sehr anstrengend macht.

    Insgesamt schöne Tour mit super tollen Ausblicken, schönen Waldpassagen und einigen netten Rastmöglichkeiten. In Höhe Kesten gibt es ein wunderschön gelegenes Kneipp- Tretbecken und einen Sauerbrunnen ( aktuell leider gesperrt ). Die Etappe hat von Kesten aus gewandert inkl. Zuweg nur 15 km. Von Osann - Monzel sind es dann wie beschildert 18 km. Einzige Punktabzüge gebe ich für doch recht viel Asphalt und Schotterwege innerhalb der Weinberge, sowie für den permanent doch recht störenden Strapenlärm. Aber ansonsten wirklich sehr schön!

    Sehr schöne E-Bike-Rundtour, die grandiose Aussichten und wunderbare Rastmöglichkeiten zu bieten hat. Dafür sollte man sich auf jeden Fall genügend Zeit nehmen! Die Wege sind überwiegend gut und asphaltiert, abschnittweise allerdings auch Schotterwege und Nebenstraßen mit Schlaglöchern.

    Tolle Wege, sehr vielseitig mit wunderschönen Panoramen. Im Gegensatz zum Namen ist man mehr oberhalb der Mosel auf den Höhenwegen( Moselsteig/ Moselhöhenweg/ Eifelsteig) unterwegs. Viel Wald mit viel Natur und Ruhe. Man kann sehr gut abschalten und die Höhenmeter sind der sportliche Teil. Sehr anstrengende Steigungen die man Abends bei einem Glas Moselwein wieder vergisst!
