Melchow is known for its historic architecture from the 18th century as well as for the castle of the von Arnim family, which is now used as a hotel. Another highlight is the medieval village church of St. Nikolai with its impressive altarpiece.

The annual art festival "Kunst am See" (Art on the Lake) and various concerts in the church or on the castle grounds provide cultural highlights.

The culinary specialities are varied: try the regional honey, for example, or visit a farm shop for fresh vegetables and fruit from the region.

In summer, outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or swimming can be enjoyed in the nearby Werbellinsee lake. In winter, cross-country skiing is a great option on the surrounding slopes.

Even in rainy weather, there are options for leisure activities: visit one of the numerous museums in Prenzlau or Eberswalde or relax in a spa like the Fontane Therme Neuruppin.

Where is it most beautiful? The picturesque surroundings around the Werbellinsee lake invite you to go for walks and offer dreamlike views of the water and the surrounding mountains.

Overall, Melchow is a destination that is definitely worth a trip because of its diversity and beauty. Trust our travel guide and experience an unforgettable stay in the Barnim!
