Masserberg is known for its healing effect on the body and soul. There are numerous spas with thermal baths and wellness offers that are worth a visit. But hiking enthusiasts also get their money's worth here: the Rennsteig hiking trail runs through the area and offers spectacular views over the mountains.

One of the most important sights in Masserberg is the 18th century Eishausen Castle, which now serves as a museum. Here you can learn more about the history of the region as well as admire an impressive art collection.

Cultural highlights include the annual jazz festival in summer as well as various concerts and theatre performances throughout the year. There are also many traditional festivals, such as the Christmas market or the Easter market.

For culinary delights, we definitely recommend Thuringian bratwurst, which is famous all over the world! Other regional specialities such as dumplings or rouladen should not be missed either.

The best outdoor activities are of course in spring and summer: hiking, cycling or swimming in one of the many lakes - everything is possible! In winter, on the other hand, you can go skiing at Großer Inselsberg or cross-country skiing on the surrounding trails.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we recommend a visit to the Morassina mine or the Lauscha glassworks - both interesting destinations for the whole family.

Where is the most beautiful? That's hard to say, because each place has its own charm. However, we recommend a hike along the Rennsteig hiking trail and enjoy the beautiful views over the mountains!

Masserberg, Hildburghausen - definitely a destination worth visiting! With our Travel Guide you are well informed and can plan your stay optimally.

Onderweg veel informatieborden over planten, bomen, geologie.
