Marburg itself is a city with a rich history and culture. The old town with its narrow streets and half-timbered houses invites you to stroll around and offers numerous sights such as Marburg Castle, the Elisabeth Church or even the historic town hall.

Cultural highlights include the annual city festival "Marburg Summer", as well as various theatre performances or concerts in the Erwin Piscator House. The Philipps University also contributes to the cultural diversity - it was founded as early as 1527 and is thus one of the oldest universities in Germany.

If you want to indulge yourself in culinary delights, you should definitely plan a visit to one of the traditional inns. Here you can enjoy regional specialities such as "Handkäs' mit Musik" (cheese with music) or "Grüne Soße" (green sauce).

For outdoor activities, hikes through the surrounding forests are particularly suitable - especially in spring when everything is in bloom or in autumn when the leaves change colour. Bicycle tours along the Lahn are also very popular.

And what do you do in Marburg when the weather is bad? A visit to the Botanical Garden or the Kunstverein can help.

All in all, Marburg is definitely worth a trip and a perfect destination for anyone who appreciates history, culture and nature in equal measure. This travel guide offers you a comprehensive overview of everything worth knowing about Marburg - from tourist highlights to culinary insider tips. We wish you a pleasant stay in this charming city!

Man muss etwa 500 Meter Umweg gehen.
