Maps and trails
Malterdingen lies at the foot of the Black Forest and is surrounded by a picturesque landscape. The region is known for its vineyards and excellent wines. The climate here is mild with warm summers and cold winters.

Sights relevant to tourism include the 18th century Malterdingen Castle and the 13th century St. Martin's Church with its impressive tower. A walk through the historic old town is also worthwhile.

Cultural highlights include the annual wine festival in August and the arts and crafts market in October. Here you can buy local products such as handmade ceramics or woodwork.

The culinary specialities of Malterdingen are mainly regional specialities such as Maultaschen or Flammkuchen with fresh vegetables from the farm next door.

Outdoor activities in this area are plentiful: hiking on marked trails through the Black Forest or along the vineyards offer wonderful views at any time of year - but especially beautiful in autumn when the leaves change colour; cycling on well-marked cycle paths or a canoe trip on the nearby river Elz are also popular leisure activities.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to do in Malterdingen. Visit the local history museum and learn more about the history of the region or relax at the thermal baths in Bad Krozingen, just a few kilometres away.

Overall, Malterdingen is a destination worth visiting for anyone who longs for a relaxing break surrounded by vineyards and nature. Whether cultural highlights, culinary delights or outdoor activities - everyone gets their money's worth here!
