Discover the region

Geographically, Lubmin lies on the Baltic Sea and is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of forests and dunes. The town has a long history as a fishing village and used to be an important port for trade with Scandinavia.

Touristically relevant are especially the beaches of Lubmin. The fine sandy beach stretches for several kilometres and offers numerous opportunities for sunbathing or swimming in the Baltic Sea. For water sports enthusiasts, there are also many options here such as surfing or kite surfing.

Cultural highlights can also be found in Lubmin - visit the local history museum "Alte Schule", where you can learn a lot about the history of the village. If you like art, you should definitely pay a visit to the Atelierhaus Rügen - exhibitions are held here regularly.

For culinary delights, we recommend fresh fish from the region as well as local specialities such as Rügener Badejunge (a type of potato salad) or Pommersche Grützwurst (a sausage speciality).

If it rains, there are still plenty of activities to choose from: How about a visit to the indoor playground "Pirateninsel" or a trip to nearby Greifswald? Here you can visit museums or stroll leisurely through the old town.

The best time to visit Lubmin is in summer. The temperatures are pleasantly warm and the beaches are full of life. In autumn, you can also take beautiful walks through the colourful forests.

Overall, Lubmin is a destination that is definitely worth a trip - whether for a relaxing beach holiday or to discover the history and culture of this region of Germany. This travel guide will help you plan your trip to Lubmin in the best possible way!
