Lipprechterode

Geographically, Lipprechterode is located in Thuringia, close to the border with Saxony-Anhalt. The town is surrounded by mountains and lies directly on the river Helme. In Nordhausen, on the other hand, you will find numerous historical buildings such as the town hall or the Blasiikirche church as well as the well-known Kohnstein with the former Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp.

Touristically relevant are above all the many cultural highlights of the region. For example, you can visit Heringen Castle or take a trip to Walkenried Monastery. A visit to the Nordhausen Regional Museum is also worthwhile for anyone interested in history.

If you prefer culinary delights, you should definitely try the famous "Nordhäuser Doppelkorn" - a schnapps made from rye and water. But regional specialities such as Thuringian grilled sausage or sauerfleisch should not be missing from any plate.

There is also plenty to experience outdoors: Hike through the Harz National Park or explore the area by bike along the Unstrut Cycle Path. In winter, the skiing area of Braunlage with its slopes and cross-country skiing trails also beckons.

Even when the weather is bad, no one need be bored: Just visit the adventure pool "Salztal-Paradies" or enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the cosy cafés.

It is especially beautiful in Lipprechterode and Nordhausen in spring, when nature awakens and everything is green and blossoming. But the region also shows its best side in autumn: the forests turn colourful and invite you to take long walks.
