Discover the region

The most important sights are Lichtenberg Castle, St. Michael's Church and the local museum. The castle dates back to the 12th century and has been restored to preserve its history; it offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding area from above.

Culture enthusiasts should also not miss the annual art market or visit the music festival, which takes place every summer.

For culinary delights, we definitely recommend trying local beer and bratwurst - both are traditionally made here and taste fantastic!

If you like to be active, you can go hiking or cycling - it is especially beautiful in spring when everything is in bloom or in autumn when the forest changes its colours. You can also go fishing at one of the nearby lakes.

If it rains, there is still plenty to do: for example, you could go to the swimming pool or visit one of the many museums such as the Franciscan monastery in Münchberg or the porcelain museum in Selb.

Overall, Lichtenberg has something to offer for everyone! We hope this travel guide has been helpful and that you enjoy your visit to this beautiful part of Germany!
