Feine Runde fernab vom Eifel-trubel, der an schönen Wochenenden auf den Moderouten herrscht. Verpflegung an Bord zu empfehlen, da schöne Plätze mit Fernsicht einladen.

Abweichend vom empfohlenem Startpunkt, der Hütte in Wimbach, startete ich vom Parkplatz am Angelpark bei der Barweiler Mühle. Der folgende Anstieg nach Honerath hinauf, war auch dank der gut ausgebauten Waldwege, keine Schwierigkeit. Lediglich die Passage oberhalb Honerath war aufgrund der unmittelbar vorrausgegangenen Forstarbeiten, auf einer Strecke von ca. 300 Meter etwas aufgeweicht. Bei extrem schönem Herbstwetter und guter Sicht, taten sich insbesondere in den Bereichen oberhalb Wimbach und Kottenborn, herrliche Aussichten auf. Der Weg führte im großen und ganzen auf gut begehbaren Wegen hinab ins Tal des Wirftbaches und folgte dessen Verlauf bis zum Ausgangspunkt. Kleiner Kritikpunkt sind die sehr klein gehaltenen Markierungsschilder (betrifft auch die Nachbarschleifen), die Positionierung gelang auch nicht ganz optimal. Zusammenfassend kann man jedoch von einer gut gesetzen Tour sprechen, die hinsichtlich der Kondition keine allzuhohen Ansprüche stellt.
