Königswinter offers a variety of tourist attractions such as Drachenburg Castle, an impressive neo-Gothic castle with spectacular views of the Rhine. Another highlight is the rack railway that takes visitors from the town centre up to the summit of the Drachenfels - one of the highest mountains in the Siebengebirge.

For cultural highlights, we recommend a visit to the Sea Life Aquarium or the Museum Alexander Koenig, which focuses on natural history and biodiversity. When it comes to events, be sure to visit the annual wine festival or experience the carnival - both are very popular with locals and tourists alike.

When it comes to culinary specialities, you will be served local specialities such as Rieslingschorle (white wine with mineral water) as well as regional dishes such as Himmel un Ääd (Heaven and Earth), a mashed potato dish with applesauce and black pudding.

There are many outdoor activities to enjoy - hiking through the beautiful Siebengebirge or cycling along the banks of the Rhine are just a few. The best seasons for this are spring to autumn. For rainy days, we recommend a visit to the Sea Life Aquarium or a ride on the cogwheel railway to the top of the Drachenfels.

The most beautiful place in Königswinter is hard to determine as there are so many incredible places. Some of our favourites are the Drachenburg Castle and the viewing platform at the top of the Drachenfels - from here you can enjoy the breathtaking view over the Rhine.

We hope these travel tips will help you make the most of your time in Königswinter. This Travel Guide clearly shows: A visit to this city is definitely worth the trip!
