Kneese is located in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and is a picturesque village with a rich history. It is idyllically situated on the edge of the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park, thus offering a breathtaking backdrop for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or fishing.

An absolute highlight is Kneese Castle from the 18th century - it is not only architecturally impressive, but also surrounded by a beautiful park with old trees. Another must-see for every tourist is the church of St. Marien as well as the historic village centre with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses.

In addition to the classic sights, there are numerous cultural events throughout the year: the spring festival "Maibaum aufstellen" (Maypole raising) in May attracts many guests; in summer, the traditional village festival takes place; in autumn, you can taste local specialities at the harvest festival; at the Christmas market, mulled wine and gingerbread are offered.

For gourmets, Kneese also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the regionally famous fish from the nearby Müritz region or enjoy hearty dishes such as kale and potatoes in one of the cosy restaurants.

If it does rain, there are still plenty of activities: Visit the local history museum or take a guided tour of the historic buildings. A trip to nearby Schwerin with its famous castle is also always a good option.

In summer, the lakes around Kneese are particularly beautiful - here you can swim, go boating or simply relax. In autumn, on the other hand, a hike through the colourful nature park is a great option.

Kneese is definitely worth a visit - whether for a day trip or as a destination for longer stays. We hope this guide will help you with your planning and look forward to welcoming you to our charming village soon!
