Kittlitz is located on the edge of a picturesque forest area and offers a breathtaking view of the nearby lake. The landscape here is characterised by rolling hills and green meadows - ideal for hiking or cycling.

But Kittlitz also has a lot to offer culturally: Visit the castle, which has existed since the 17th century and is now used as a museum. Here you can learn more about the history of the region as well as admire works of art from different eras.

Another highlight are the numerous events that take place every year. In summer, there are outdoor concerts as well as traditional festivals with music and dance performances. Those who prefer a quieter atmosphere can take part in cooking classes or try local products such as cheese or beer.

For outdoor lovers there are many possibilities: Swimming in the lake, fishing or canoeing are just a few examples. Hiking trails through the forest invite you to explore the surroundings - especially beautiful in spring or autumn when everything is in bloom or colourful.

And what to do in bad weather? No problem! In Kittlitz you will find cosy cafés as well as indoor activities such as museums or galleries.

Whether as a day trip or a longer journey - Kittlitz is definitely worth a visit. Let yourself be enchanted by the idyllic landscape and discover the cultural treasures of this charming village in the Duchy of Lauenburg.

As a travel guide, we recommend that you also visit the surrounding villages and towns, such as Ratzeburg or Mölln, which also entice you with historical charm as well as lake landscapes.
