Discover the region

Geographically, Kissing is located about 20 kilometres southwest of Augsburg and offers an idyllic location between the rivers Lech and Paar. The town is surrounded by green meadows, lush forests and a breathtaking mountain backdrop - a truly spectacular sight!

Culturally, Kissing has much to offer: Visit the local history museum on the market square or the town parish church of St. Stephanus with its magnificent baroque altar dating from 1717.

If you are interested in history, you should also take a detour to Blumenthal Castle - an impressive building from the 18th century.

For culinary connoisseurs, there are numerous restaurants in the town centre as well as traditional beer gardens in the surrounding villages such as Mering or Merching. Be sure to try the famous Bavarian cuisine with delicious dishes such as Schweinshaxe (knuckle of pork), Brezn (pretzels) and Weißwurst (white sausage).

When it comes to outdoor activities, hiking enthusiasts have plenty of options here: Explore the surroundings on one of the many hiking trails through fields and forests or cycle along the Lech on the popular Via Claudia Augusta cycle path.

Even if it rains you don't have to stay idle! Visit the indoor swimming pool in Kissing or drive to nearby Augsburg, where there are many museums and indoor activities.

In summer, Kissing hosts numerous events: The traditional folk festival in July is a highlight for all visitors, as is the Christmas market in December.

Kissing is worth a trip at any time of year. Whether for hiking, cycling or simply relaxing - everyone will find something to their taste here. Come by and experience the beauty of this town for yourself!

Empfehlenswerte Tour!
