Geographical location and special features Kirchseelte is located about 15 kilometres south of Oldenburg and is part of the joint municipality of Harpstedt. It is known for its picturesque landscapes with rolling hills and green meadows, as well as the course of the Delme River, which meanders through the village.

Tourist-relevant sights. Visit the 13th century St. Marien Church or stroll along the historic centre of the village with its old half-timbered houses. Another highlight is Gödens Castle - only a short drive away - which is considered one of the most beautiful moated castles in Germany.

Cultural Highlights and Events For culture enthusiasts, Kirchseelte offers numerous events such as concerts, theatre performances and art exhibitions. The annual Christmas market on the market square also attracts many visitors.

Culinary specialities. Try local specialities such as kale (in winter) or asparagus (in spring). Many restaurants also offer fresh fish as well as meat and game dishes.

Outdoor activities. The best time for outdoor activities in Kirchseelte are spring to autumn. Enjoy a bike ride along the Delme River or hike through the picturesque landscape. In winter you can enjoy ice skating on the frozen lake.

Rain days in Kirchseelte. Even on rainy days there is plenty to do in Kirchseelte. Visit the local history museum, which offers insights into how people used to live and work in the village, or relax with a cup of coffee in a cosy café.

Where is it most beautiful? Walks along the course of the Delme River and hikes through the surrounding woods and fields are particularly idyllic. A picnic on the shore of the lake can also be an unforgettable experience.
