Discover the region

Kirchberg an der Murr is located about 30 kilometres northeast of Stuttgart. The town is known for its picturesque vineyards along the river Murr. The mild climate makes it a perfect place for hiking or cycling through the surrounding countryside. In summer you can also enjoy a picnic on the banks of the river.

The town itself has a rich history with many historic buildings such as Kirchberg Castle from the 16th century or the town church of St. Johannes from the 19th century. Another highlight is the local history museum in the old schoolhouse, which gives an insight into life in the countryside in the past.

For art lovers, a visit to the Vogelmann Art Gallery is a must, where contemporary works of art are on display.

If you are looking for culinary experiences you should definitely try the local wine - especially the Trollinger red wine - accompanied by regional specialities such as Spätzle or Zwiebelrostbraten in a local restaurant.

Outdoor enthusiasts will be thrilled by the range of hiking and cycling tours around Kirchberg during spring to autumn. In winter, you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the nearby Welzheimer Wald.

When it rains, there are still plenty of activities in Kirchberg an der Murr. Visit the indoor swimming pool or the sauna at the Sibyllenbad leisure and adventure pool, go to the cinema or visit a local brewery for a beer tasting.

Kirchberg an der Murr is worth a visit at any time of year, but it is especially beautiful during spring when everything is in bloom and the vineyards turn green. Don't miss this charming town on your trip through Germany!

Abwechslungsreiche Tour, teilweise abenteuerlich.

Einkehrtipp: Taverna to Beles am Stadion in Backnang.
