Discover the region

Kalbsrieth is located at the foot of the Kyffhäuser Mountains. The landscape is surrounded by rolling hills and meadows and offers numerous opportunities for hiking or cycling tours. The nearby Harz National Park also invites you to take long walks.

One of the most famous sights in Kalbsrieth is Burgscheidungen Castle. The magnificent building dates back to the 12th century and today houses a museum with an impressive collection of artworks from various eras.

The annual music festival at Sondershausen Castle and the traditional "Kyffhäuser-Kirmes" folk festival also provide cultural highlights. Here you can try regional specialities such as Thuringian grilled sausage or potato pancakes.

If it rains, we recommend a visit to the Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen. There you can admire one of the largest paintings in Europe - the "Panorama Rundblick 1806". A guided tour of the Heimkehle stalactite cave is also worthwhile in bad weather.

The best time for outdoor activities in Kalbsrieth is in spring and summer. Here you can go hiking, cycling or even take a canoe trip on the Unstrut. In winter, the region also offers opportunities for skiing and tobogganing.

Kalbsrieth is a destination that is definitely worth a visit. Whether you are interested in culture, nature or activities - you will find everything your heart desires here! This Travel Guide is designed to help you make the most of your stay in Kalbsrieth.
