Kaden

Geography: Kaden is located on the northern edge of the Westerwald in a hilly landscape with forests, fields and rivers. The nearest town is Hachenburg.

Sights: One of the main attractions of Kaden is Marienfels Castle, an impressive 19th century building with a magnificent park. The St. Anna Chapel in the cemetery is also worth a visit for its historical significance and beautiful interior.

Cultural Highlights: In the surrounding area you will find many museums such as the local history museum in Hachenburg or the ceramics museum in Höhr-Grenzhausen. In summer you can also take part in various music festivals such as the open air festival "Rock im Wald" or the jazz festival "Jazztage".

Events: Another highlight are the numerous Christmas markets during Advent - the romantic market around Marienfels Castle is particularly recommended.

Culinary delights: Be sure to try the famous Westerwald spit roast - a regional speciality made of pork with potatoes and sauerkraut! It goes well with a fresh beer from one of the many breweries in the area.

Outdoor activities: The countryside around Kaden is ideal for hiking, cycling and horseback riding. The hiking trails along the Nister River or through the Nassau Nature Park are particularly beautiful.

Best season: Spring and summer are perfect for outdoor activities, while in autumn the leaf colouring offers a beautiful spectacle. In winter you can look forward to cosy Christmas markets.

Rain days: There is plenty to do even on rainy days! Visit the ceramics museum in Höhr-Grenzhausen or relax in one of the wellness hotels in the area.
