Maps and trails
Hörschhausen is nestled between the volcanoes of the Eifel and thus offers a breathtaking landscape with numerous hiking and cycling routes for outdoor enthusiasts. The region is known for its idyllic villages, historic castles and palaces as well as impressive natural spectacles such as Lake Laach or the Gerolstein Dolomites.

Sights relevant to tourism include Bürresheim Castle from the 12th century and the Maria Laach Monastery on the lake of the same name. Those interested in culture should definitely visit the Römervilla museum, which provides insights into the Roman history of the region.

For gourmets, Hörschhausen also has a lot to offer: For example, try the famous Eifel specialities such as Himmel un Ääd (mashed potatoes with apple sauce) or Rheinischer Sauerbraten.

The best season for outdoor activities is from spring to autumn. In winter, however, you can also glide through the snow-covered landscape on skis or relax on a leisurely snow hike.

If it rains, we recommend a visit to the Cascade leisure pool in Bitburg or a trip to the Nürburgring race track, where you can visit the motor sports museum.

Where is the most beautiful? That depends on personal preferences. Some recommend a walk through the vineyards near Mayschoss, while others prefer the view from the Burgberg in Manderscheid.

Overall, Hörschhausen is a destination that is definitely worth a visit. This travel guide is designed to help you plan and enjoy your stay in the best possible way.
