    Dieser Pilgerweg ist bisher für mich der schönste in Deutschland .. er hat dem Mosel-Camino für mich übertroffen.. unfassbar toller Weg ,super liebe hilfsbereite Menschen unterwegs und die verschlafenen hübschen Dörfer die man durchstreift sind wirklich toll.. anspruchsvoll fand ich den Weg nicht , man kann diesen Weg absolut nach den so gut ausgeschilderten Muschel laufen .. ich würde ihn nochmal Pilgern 👍🏽

    Schöne Tour. Aber teilweise nicht gut ausgeschildert. Besonders nach dem Überqueren der Hunsrückhöhenstraße Richtung Massing Mühle und hoch nach Hunolstein habe ich gar keine Schilder gesehen. Dort wäre es aber dringend erforderlich, da der Weg auch teilweise dichter bewachsen ist und man nicht immer sicher ist, ob man Beschilderung übersehen hat und man noch auf dem richtigen Weg ist. Ab Hunolstein aber wieder gut ausgeschildert.

    Sehr schöne Tour. Ich bin sie heute mit dem Gravel-Bike gefahren. Mit dem MTB wäre es noch besser gewesen. Einzelne Abschnitte zum Beispiel nach den Idarturm runter nach Rhaunen sind mit einem MTB besser zu fahren.

    ich wollte nach Trier pilgern, aber der Model Camino war mir zu krass hinsichtlich der Höhenmeter. So kam ich auf den Ausonius Weg. Wunderbar für alle, die einfach mal auschreiten wollen. z.T. sehr abgelegen und einsam. In 5 Tagen bin ich vielleicht 4 Leuten auf der Strecke begegnet. Also Wegzehrung mitnehmen. Wer draussen schlafen will findet hier immer gute Spots.

    Wir haben diese Runde in entgegengesetzter Richtung gemacht und nach dem Highlight - dem Idarkopfturm - um eine kleine Schleife Richtung Stipshausen erweitert. Der neue Turm ist absolut sehenswert und mit seiner aufwendigen Holz-Stahl-Konstruktion architektonisch sehr ansprechend! An klaren Tagen bietet sich von oben eine atemberaubende Rundumsicht (hierfür 5 Sterne!). Hinweistafeln zu den Himmelsrichtungen mit Orten und Sehenswertem wären eine tolle Ergänzung. Auch Angaben zum Bauwerk selbst hätten uns interessiert (kommt ja alles vielleicht noch...). Die Beschilderung der Wanderwege ist spärlich und/oder leicht zu übersehen. Zudem sind die Forstwege durch schweres Gerät zum Teil sehr ausgefahren mit tiefen, nassen Furchen. Der Startpunkt, Wanderparkplatz an der K 24, ist wenig einladend: Wandertafel, Mülltonne, Tisch und Bänke bieten einen erbärmlichen Anblick und sollten - wenn nicht erneuert -, besser entfernt werden.

    We've walked this route from Mainz to Trier, in July 2020 in 7 days. It was warm (hot) and sunny, and we went through vineyards, forests, fields and small villages, just a nice variety of landscapes. It was also really quiet, almost no other hikers. Mainz is a really nice city to start from, and to end in beautiful Roman Trier is also great. I'd really recommend this route.

    Wir sind von Mainz nach Trier gelaufen. Es war ein wunderschöner Weg. Sehr einsam und ruhig.Bis auf die Etappe Gräfendhron- Fell ist sie top beschildert! Die letzten 6 km vor Trier läuft man allerdings durch das Industriegebiet. Das war nicht so schön!Es lohnt sich aber auf jeden Fall diesen Weg zu laufen 😀

    Aufgrund eines H5 Wegweisers haben wir die Strecke entgegengesetzt genommen. Wege waren toll, nur leider gar nicht ausgeschildert. Ohne Navi wären wir aufgeschmissen gewesen. Teilweise etwas zugewachsen oder im Wald gar nicht gepflegt. Dennoch passierbar.
