Heitersheim

Geographically, Heitersheim lies at the foot of the Black Forest and is surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. The town itself has a rich history as the former seat of the Margraves of Baden and is home to some impressive historical buildings such as Heitersheim Castle or the Collegiate Church of St. Michael.

For cultural highlights, be sure to visit the Museum of Town History or see a performance at the Kulturforum. When it comes to culinary specialities, the wineries around Heitersheim are a must for any gourmet - be sure to try the local Pinot Noir!

If you prefer outdoor activities, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking and cycling through the picturesque landscapes of the surrounding area - a hike along the Kaiserstuhl-Steinberg Panorama Trail is particularly recommended, with breathtaking views across the Rhine to the Vosges Mountains.

But what to do in bad weather? Don't worry! In Heitersheim you will also find indoor activities such as a swimming pool or gym as well as cosy cafés and restaurants to relax in.

And where is the nicest place to be in Heitersheim? That depends on your interests, of course! But we recommend a walk through the old town and a visit to Heitersheim Castle for an unforgettable view of the surrounding vineyards.
