Geographically, Hehlen lies on the edge of the Weserbergland and is surrounded by idyllic forests. The town of Holzminden, on the other hand, is located directly on the Weser with a view of the picturesque surrounding countryside.

Hehlen is known for its historic half-timbered houses from the 17th century as well as for Fürstenberg Castle, which played an important role in the history of Lower Saxony. In Holzminden you should definitely visit the St. Paul's Church - a beautiful example of Gothic architecture.

Cultural highlights include the annual shooting match in Hehlen or the cultural festival "Holz-Mindener Sommer", where musicians and artists from all over the world perform. The region also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: Why not try the famous kale with pinkel or enjoy fresh beer from local breweries.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for hiking, cycling or canoeing along the Weser. In winter, skiers and snowboarders can test their skills in the nearby Harz Mountains.

And what to do in bad weather? Why not visit one of the many museums, such as the German Huguenot Museum in Bad Karlshafen or the local history museum in Holzminden.

Overall, Hehlen and Holzminden are definitely worth a visit. Visit this charming region of Germany to experience history, culture and nature - a perfect destination for your next holiday!
