Geographically, Halbs is located in the southern part of the Westerwald district and borders the Nassau Nature Park. The surrounding area is characterised by its rolling hills, forests and rivers - perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or canoeing.

One of the most famous sights of Halbs is Oranienstein Castle. The baroque building was built in the 17th century and today houses a technical college as well as a museum with changing exhibitions.

Cultural highlights also include the annual castle festival at Oranienstein Castle as well as concerts by local music clubs. Halbs has a few culinary specialities to offer, including regional specialities such as "Westerwald potato soup" or homemade cakes in the village's cosy cafés.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Halbs offers many opportunities for active leisure activities. In summer, you can cycle along the Lahn cycle path or go camping at the nearby campsite. In winter, snow-covered forests invite you to go cross-country skiing.

Even when it rains, there is plenty to do in Halbs: a visit to the indoor swimming pool provides a change from the bad weather. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can visit one of the local libraries or learn more about the history of the village in the village museum.

Halbs is certainly at its best in the warm summer months, when you can best enjoy nature and the cultural offerings. But a visit is also a good idea in autumn, when the leaves change colour and the whole village is bathed in golden hues.

Overall, Halbs is definitely worth a visit - whether as a day trip or for a longer stay. This guide will give you all the important information and tips to make the most of your trip to Halbs!
