Geographically, Halberstadt lies on the edge of the Harz Mountains and thus offers an impressive landscape with picturesque forests and mountains. However, the city itself also has a lot to offer: historic buildings such as St. Stephen's Cathedral or the town hall are just some of the tourist attractions. A special highlight is the Gleimhaus, which is considered one of the oldest literature museums in Europe.

There are also plenty of cultural highlights to discover here: The theatre in Halberstadt attracts visitors with a varied programme of operas, plays and concerts. The Heineanum Museum and the Spiegelsberge Chapel are also worth a visit.

For culinary delights, we recommend a dinner in the restaurant "Zur Goldenen Sonne", which offers regional specialities. If you like sweets, you should definitely try the famous "Halberstädter Baumkuchen" (Halberstadt tree cake).

If you prefer outdoor activities, you will be thrilled by the numerous hiking and cycling trails - it is especially beautiful in spring when everything is in bloom or in autumn when the leaves turn colourful. In winter, you can go skiing or ice skating on the surrounding mountains.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we recommend a visit to the "Cine City" cinema or the "Aquapark" swimming pool. A guided tour through Halberstadt's underworld is also an exciting alternative in rainy weather!

Summarised: Halberstadt, district of Harz is definitely worth a visit and offers something for every taste. Whether cultural highlights, culinary delights or outdoor activities - everyone gets their money's worth here!

Beautiful tour, but the gpx track is inaccurate. It was hard to find the track, especially when walking counter clockwise. Would be helpful to update it.
